And We're Off...
The Knicks start off the preseason with a win that left us with no shortage of topics to discuss.
Good morning! I mean, how good did that feel? Was the basketball good? Heck no! But who cares…it was lovely. Let’s get into it right now.
Preseason Game 1: NYK 99, PHI 84
Holy smokes, I hope this is like riding a bike, because boy do I feel rusty!
But man oh man, does it feel good to be back.
Even if my off-seasons are filled with more sleep and time to engage in other pursuits (I think I read three books this summer…where’s my gold star?), there’s always an emptiness when the Knicks are on hiatus. Like starting the morning off without coffee, it might be better for our health, but how the hell are we expected to make it through the day?
Alas, we are back…for year-seven of this newsletter and year 80 (!!!) of New York Knickerbocker basketball. Will it be the best one yet? The fact that that’s a distinct possibility is more than enough reason to be excited for what lies ahead.
Yesterday, we started to learn a bit about what that journey is going to look like, and right off the bat, we were dealt a curveball.
