Game 52: Knicks 108, Mavs 122
In a New York minute…
Missing what figures to be two thirds of their new rotation, including Jalen Brunson with a bum ankle, New York faced an uphill climb with only eight healthy players - three of which were 10-day contract signee Taj Gibson and two-way guys Charlie Brown Jr and Jacob Toppin. Even with the odds stacked against them, the Knicks hung tough, never allowing the game to completely get away. That led to a fun fourth quarter (unless you were Jason Kidd) that briefly saw a 3-point shootout between Luka Doncic and Josh Hart (!), and culminated in a 7-0 Knicks run that cut the lead to eight with 3:27 to go. That’s when New York finally ran out of gas, but no one was hanging their head after a great all-around effort.
