Only this team, man…only this team.
It’s hard to believe that about 60 hours ago as of the moment I’m writing this, the vibes surrounding the New York Knicks were as immaculate as they had been in a quarter century.
There was nothing they couldn’t do, and nobody who could stand in their way.
In coming through with their two best performances of the season in a five-day span, they had vanquished their two greatest nemeses: the Boston Celtics, and themselves.
Now, a week after that Game 6 victory, we know that one of those enemies was merely lying in wait. First, it was a collapse for the ages. Last night, it was many of the familiar season-long foes that did them in up until this point.
