What do the Knicks have up their sleeve? Let's take a look at their cap sheet to find our answer.
Hello friends.
As you examine your life choices on this lovely late summer Saturday morning, you should feel damn fine about subscribing to a Knicks newsletter whose author woke up today and said “I must write a bonus newsletter about accounting.”
As the world falls apart around us, at least this is right.
Ahem…
Yesterday the Knicks made some minor waves by signing Malcolm Brogdon to a non-guaranteed, one-year veteran minimum contract. Notably, this came on the heels of Landry Shamet signing the same deal a day earlier, not to mention Garrison Matthews’ camp contract that was also handed out. On top of all that, Ian Begley and Jake Fischer both reported that Thomas Bryant was another veteran who the Knicks recently showed interest in.
Given the number of vets the front office is kicking the tires on for what is currently one available roster spot, reports unsurprisingly started to trickle out that the team may look to make a move that would allow them to add two veteran free agents - likely Brogdon and Shamet - to the roster1.
So the question now is how much space they need to clear, and who needs to go out in order to make it happen?
