Game 7: Knicks 119, Wizards 102
The Washington Wizards are not a very good basketball team.
That probably won’t come as a shock given the Wiz have combined for 33 wins over the last two seasons, but it bears repeating, lest anyone be tempted to get ahead of their skis following a fairly easy W.
You play who is on your schedule, and last night, the schedule Gods graced the Knicks with just about the kindest second night of a back to back imaginable. They certainly weren’t complaining.
And yet in these early hours of Mike Brown’s tenure as coach, where almost nothing outside of Jalen Brunson’s brilliance can be taken as a given, every game is a learning opportunity, both for us and the team. From that perspective, even a matchup with the lowly Wizards was worthy of attention.
Or more accurately, Karl-Anthony Towns’ decimation of the lowly Wizards was worthy of our attention.
