Good morning! West coast game are always fun because when I go to set the automatic email delivery time, I see that 5 am is 42 minutes away, so why not just send the damn thing a little early. Happy Tuesday, everyone.

Game 64: Knicks 133, Kings 104

  • Falling behind 5-0 out of the gate, the Knicks proceeded to have one of their most dominant first quarters of the season, going up 37-22 after one behind a scintillating start from Deuce McBride.

  • After pushing the lead to 20, New York allowed Sacramento back into the game a few times, but never allowed their advantage to fall below single digits thanks in part to consistently excellent defense.

  • After the score was 68-58 Knicks, New York went on 26-10 run to regain command before the end of the third, and they never looked back.

  • With 22 made threes in 40 attempts, the post-ASG shooting slump is over for now.

  • 34 assists tied New York’s third highest total since December 19.

There is a point sometime between dusk and dawn when the brain ceases to function at full capacity, and one loses the ability to craft a coherent narrative around the outcome of a basketball game.

I don’t know exactly when that point it, but it is definitely before 2:45 am, which is when I sat down to recap New York’s dominant win over the Sacramento kings.

As such, here’s five thoughts (plus Stars of the Game) following a sorely needed win, courtesy of my mushy brain…

🏀 Josh Hart’s shooting is back.

Or so we pray.
