🏀 Don’t call it a comeback.
According to Stefan Bondy, Lithuanian point guard Rokas Jokubaitis will once again suit up for the Knicks in Las Vegas. It’s been three years since he donned the orange and blue after being taken with the 34th pick in 2021.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, today’s is a Rokas-themed newsletter, starting with a mailbag question from Willis Knettel:
Now that Rokas will be playing in summer league, what do you see as the most likely outcome?
A) Danny Ainge is enamored with his play and trades Walker Kessler to the Knicks for protected picks and Rokas’ draft rights.
B) The Knicks are enamored with his play and roster him while trading Deuce and protected picks for Walker Kessler.
C) The Knicks are enamored with his play and figure out a way to roster him and Kolek and keep Deuce.
D) The Knicks are enamored with his play but can’t open a roster spot for him so they trade him for future draft assets.
Can I choose answer choice E) No one is particularly enamored by his play and it doesn’t materially alter the trade calculations of any party involved?
No?
Ok then…if only given the above four answer choices, I’ll take B) the Knicks are enamored with his play and roster him while trading Deuce and protected picks for Walker Kessler. My rationale:
