Good morning! Summer League officially ended on Monday, meaning that all the hoops attention will now turn to the US Olympic team, which kicks things off this weekend against Serbia. On the NBA front, besides little drips and drabs, we haven’t had much action the last few weeks. Does that mean the summer transaction season is done? (If it’s not them, I’d guess it’ll be Philly.)
This seems like a long time left in the offseason, and while that’s technically true, the NBA has not traditionally featured many major transactions between mid-July and mid-October. Whatever your roster looked like in the middle of July was usually what it would look like on opening night.
That’s what makes the last two offseasons so interesting, and why we shouldn’t put away our trade machines just yet this summer.
