Flowers to all including KAT. It’s not what they signed up for when they laid out 53 million, but the rebounding and low post effort was just enough yesterday. He was the best center on the floor yesterday, including the guy Boston gave up a rejuvenated Anfernee Simons and draft capital for. KAT will have better games. Vukovic is where he is. Looks promising in a playoff series. OG and Mo D may have a brilliant future together as big strong wing defenders. You can’t overlook how hard they made Jaylen Brown work for his points. We owned the fourth quarter. Alvarado is as annoying as they come. Thankfully not to us anymore. Giving Brunson that fourth quarter blow was terrific. Flowers to all.

The NYKnicks need to explore the strategy(ies) that the Los Angeles Dodgers used to extricate themselves from league financial strictures. I still lament losing the left auricle and ventricle of our "Hart".

I love the acquisition of Alvarado. Love the development of Diawara. And can definitely see a death defensive unit in the playoffs of Alvarado, OG, Hart, Diawara/Robinson and Brunson.

Ultimately, defense wins in the playoffs and line ups like this can really turn a series.

Of course my next worry is resigning Mo as he will be a RFA and if he continues to show promise will another team swoop in and make it difficult for the Knicks to match. I don’t want another iHart! Plus, hopefully the Knicks can get GTA to waive his right to UFA next season in exchange for a long-term extension à la Josh Hart.

Especially if Mitch can hit at least 50% from the FT line. Yes, I like that lineup too.

I was with you on Death Defense unit until I saw Brunson in the end, instead of Deuce/Shamet/other.

Somebody has to score. And I’m not counting on Deuce this season.

I saw him being referred to as ‘Mo D’ at least twice, so I’ll steal that part. Haven’t seen anyone use this, so I’ll just steal it from the 80’s…..

Thanks for indulging my claim for this as the best defensive performance of the season on the post game yesterday. While Mo and Jose were the revelations yesterday. I thought Mikal was awesome on defense too. When he’s engaged and making fast rotations, he may be the teams biggest X-factor on defense. There was a frustrating play or two where he was out-physicalled for a loose ball or two, but otherwise he was absolutely everywhere on defense. Can you imagine a defensive lineup of Jose, Deuce, Mikal, OG, and Mitch to turn the water off in key stretches of the playoffs??

Really good call by you Max.

Sorry, Max, but you’re not allowed to praise Mikal Bridges on a Jon Macri site. He didn’t initiate contact on one drive to the rim, therefore he’s not worthy of the orange and blue. :)

Diawara’s development is such a huge storyline this season. He’s gonna be so good. I’d love if he’s able to make #meaningful contributions in the playoffs this year. That might be asking too much, but he’s on his way to being a legit rotation piece.

Love that Jose’s first game for us was against a real team like Boston. You saw the immediate impact he can have and he wasn’t out of his depth against that level of competition. Can’t wait for the stretch run after the break.

Beating Boston in Boston is the best feeling ever.

I like what Jose brings to the Knicks in the way he was communicating on defense. His instincts for the game is refreshing to watch as he anticipates the play and executes on defense.

First, any blog post that cites the Andrea True Connection gets one of my stars of the game. 2) I grew up in Brooklyn playing basketball at Marine Park (youthful home of Billy Cunningham) and there were guys just like Alvarado whom you loved because of their talent and hated because of their running mouth. When "choosing up sides," I always wanted the Alvardo-like kid to pick me. After Alvarado's second pickpocket, my son texted me, "Told you that you'd love him." I do, GTA. But let's take it slow. Maybe get some coffee this week during the All Star Break. 3) I am not a schadenfreude guy ... except when it comes to Boston. I'll give it to the city and its denizens pre-Renvolution and then during the war, but I hate everyone there after John Quincy Adams. You lost two big games yesterday? Gee, I'm sorry. 4) Let's get two big ones and then take some time to rest.

Cheers to Brennan and Carr.

My brother washed dishes there. Lousy pay but he got free sandwiches!

I'm a New York expat now living as a resident alien in the Greater Boston area. So I don't hold it against all Boston denizens, though I share the sentiment about Boston sports fans. And after years of watching the Knicks lose games the few times I've made it to see a game were both at the TD Garden, and I witnessed the IQ double overtime masterpiece and game 2 of the 2025 playoffs. Inject that into my veins!

I live near Detroit and have seen the Knicks waxed here. It's not the Knicks. It's me.

Your final comment was exactly what I texted my son right after the final JB three and they brought in the scrubs. Always sweet to beat them and their bush hack a Mitch defense.

I've been a Knicks fan for 58 years and there's still nothing better than beating Satan's Celtics in Boston. Kudos to the Knicks for responding so well after Friday. Alvarado, Shamet and Duece- Knicks are getting a nice group of pesky and annoying guys off the bench. Add MO and 2nd unit is going to wear some teams down.

Boom !! Absolutely brilliant win. Nothing like going into Super Bowl Sunday completely relaxed off a huge Knicks W. Felt like we were more in control of that regular season game against Boston than any other in recent memory. The Alvarado fit feels seamless already. He’s going to be beloved in the Big Apple.

Thought it was a great effort and intensity from everyone who touched the floor. KAT even had his first moment in a while where we thought it may be getting away from him but he responded with a big bucket and strong defense. Once Brunson stepped on that floor in the 4Q, it was time to say goodnight to Boston. He wasn’t even touching rim. 9 of 10 and from one rival to another in Philly on Tuesday. Let’s crush their spirits. Cannot wait for Alvarado on Maxey / VJ , just a totally different look we have defensively now.

BRILLIANT!!!!

When I said how hard they made Brown work for his points, I was referring to Mo D, and Bridges. The reference to OG is for the future

Loved the "Final Thought".

Now let us do the same, or worse, to the Detroit Pistons.

(not the city, just the team)

Alvarado seems to embody “you don’t need to shoot well to play well” as evidenced by the missed 3 and steal following. This team needs that!

What started with a worry (No OG vs Brown), ended very pleasantly with a blowout of the Celtics on their homecourt! Couple that with the Patriots getting blown out, & Boston was 0-2 on Sunday!(0-2 felt SO good in the Super Bowl Pregame when they ran out Eli & Brady. Brady 0-2 vs Eli & 18-1. Never gets old!!!) Great debut for GTA5, he's going to add so much to the second unit! Diawara continues to impress & when JB & Hart are JB & Hart, all is right with the world! Just one thing-KAT, you can't cry after EVERY call/non-call & expect the refs to make the call. Get him a sports psychologist Leon, he needs to understand how his behavior hurts, not helps him & the team! Two games vs the Pacers & Sixers before All Star break (Another Sixer game where they get the back end of the Back2Back! SMH). Hopefully the OG toe injury is not serious! #LGK Oh, and to hone in what others were saying on the postgame, why does PJ Carlesimo have a hard on for the Knicks? He's atrocious!
