This is Fun
After a slow start, the Knicks logged another impressive win as their stars shined in different ways.
Good morning! Before we get to last night’s game, reminder that New York is back in action tomorrow at 7:30 vs the Pistons. I will be back on halftime for the game, so come join.
Game 22: Knicks 125, Hornets 101
Listless on defense and cold on offense out of the gate, New York fell behind 16-4 before Jalen Brunson strapped the Knicks on his back and personally outscored the Hornets 19-16 to cut the lead to two after one quarter.
Josh Hart grabbed the baton in the second, draining three 3-pointers en route to 14 points in the period, but New York only led by three at the break.
The Knicks decided to play both sides of the ball after halftime and ran Charlotte out of the gym with one of their most impressive quarters of the season.
Precious Achiuwa made his return and looked good.
Jeircho Sims was the first big off the bench but was dreadful in a short stint and never reentered the game.
Cam Payne sat out with an elbow issue and is day-to-day.
Jalen Brunson went to the locker room with apparent rib soreness after taking a hard fall early in the third, but he returned to the bench. Thibs said he could have reentered the game if he needed to.
Mikal Bridges played 46:30. Tom Thibodeau is a madman.
