Towns Trade Trouble, Part II
I started off yesterday’s newsletter by acknowledging my status as the least popular man in Candyland, at least on a temporary basis. Comes with the territory when you explore trading for Karl-Anthony Towns.
As such, I was excited about the plethora of responses I’d receive after that thing hit inboxes, and y’all did not disappoint. I think the totality of reader sentiments could be summed up by the five letter comment posted by reader DBN123: Blech.
I had a few other favorites, starting with one from AK:
As if exploring Towns to the Knicks wasn’t enough to produce severe dyspepsia with my morning coffee, you had to tease it over two days. Simply diabolical, Jon.
Here’s one from Anthony H:

And from Tim Smith:
Marvin Webster retired, then a year or two later signed with Milwaukee. At the All-Star break, the Knicks asked for compensation. The Bucks G.M. handed the Knicks representative a Coke.
I think that sums up KAT's value.

Oh, God. There’s going to be a part 2?!?
It’s all warranted. Even the biggest KAT supporter on the planet would look at the overall body of evidence (and the overall dollar amount of the contract) and agree that it’s not the easiest sell.
There was, however, one other common thread in the comments, and it pertained to Towns’ former coach.
