Is it out of the question to think that Cam or Fournier could have provided something off the bench? Three losses in a row indicates that teams have been able to find a point of attack that neutralize our best effort. Seems like Brunson and Grimes might be a little more banged up than we know. Why not insert Cam for his length on defense, and use Evan as a spot up 3 point threat in spurts? I don’t know the answer and it’s frustrating to watch, but there’s still plenty games left to turn it around.

How do you expect to win the game in the 4th when the starters play 38-40 minutes of the game? Exhausted players don't make clutch shots when the pressure increases.

Thibs is not even giving IQ more than 21 minutes, everyone else much less. As an example, McBride played an average of 10 minutes a game over this stretch. I see the limitations of the bench (maybe a few minutes of Fournier or Cam surrounded by defenders and IQ?) but this is self defeating. This has been effectively a 5 ½ man rotation the last three games. That isn't sustainable.

If in a close game, a referee gives a star all his favorable calls, you can only beat a star with a star. This isn't new, Jordan killed the Knicks with undeserved foul calls awarded to him. So, that's a long term issue. For now, I just want this team to play the right way, up to their collective abilities. Mission partially accomplished. Happy New Year. Thanks!!!

From the beginning, I thought the Sims / Hart double big bench lineup was stupid. It looked like I was wrong initially. But, it's really not a viable lineup and that leads Thibs to having to play the starters too much. Until Obi is back, I would like to see Cam get some run instead of either Hart or Sims.

It’s become abundantly clear that the Knicks are firmly set in that never-never land of mediocrity. They have no stars but they are, as Jonathan says, good enough to hover at or just above .500 ball. That means they will either be play-in or first round playoff losers picking 15 or 16 in the draft. It also means they can draft or acquire exactly the type of player they currently have. The Quickley/Grimes/Obi level. So Knick fans, might as well buckle up. Unless some miracle happens and they pick a superstar at 15 or 16, or some superstar says NYK or bust, this little merry-go-round could go on for years and years.

I’m just not following the ongoing IQ love. What am I missing? Yes he’s very good defensively, but we just stop scoring every time he enters the game. He can’t play the point and he doesn’t shoot well enough to be a viable threat as a 2. Our #1 priority in this year’s draft has got to be a guy who’s about 6’7, can play point, and has history as an elite shooter. Please no more 6’4 “gym rats.” Pick a guy who is long, a plus passer with high bbiq, and has been an above average shooter all his life, like an Anthony Black if he’s still on the board. This is about as far as we can go with IQ as the first guard off the bench. It’s been nearly three full years and he’s regressed as a shooter in each one.

I wouldn't bank on the 76ers in the playoffs. Yes the 76ers look great when Harden and Embiid are playing the way they did. But, both tend to get injured. If both are healthy, they will be tough in the playoffs. But, we beat the team once already earlier in the season when they had some injury bad luck. And, we absolutely could beat last year's 76ers playoff team. Also, Harden has a track record or breaking down in the playoffs.

KD doesn't have a great track record of playing a full season. So, I would expect the nets to fall back to earth at some point.

I think we are a little banged up, perhaps a bit tired fromt he energy put out during the win streak and, yes, talent-wise not a top tier team. Brunson and Grimes are dinged up, maybe Mitch too. Good news is RJ is playing a lot better. I think the grind has caught up with them and it might be tough sledding for a while. I don't see anyone other than our main three being able to will us to wins. The draft will be good for us this year I think.

Take away Brunson or make him inefficient and it's hard for this team to win games. It's been pretty much that way since G1.

In the ERA of betting on everything, Tom Thibodeau is the biggest Bettor of all. He bet Diang wouldn’t hit 3’s from the top of the key. Thibs is betting with the thing he loves most, his job as Coach of the New York Knicks. He also is playing with a hand devoid of Aces. So he has to win by bluffing frequently.
