Brunson is like Ewing and Starks rolled into one player. He's our MVP-level guy who doubles as the guy nobody believed in. It's like he was engineered in a lab to make New Yorkers fall in love.
The reality is that no team can survive without their starting, backup and third string center, their three time all star PF and one of the best defensive wings in the game. If they can play .500 ball somehow, I'd consider that incredibly encouraging.
I do think Randle will rush back - for better or worse - and my hope is that OG returns shortly after that. If Mitch can make his way back, too, we're in serious business.
My goal is still the 6 seed and healthy going in to the playoffs. Maybe it’s because making the playoffs is still a big deal to me. A higher seed doesn’t guarantee us anything, and there’s no gimme matchups regardless of who we play in round 1 (I’m assuming the 2 seed is untenable at this point). We’ll lose some of the media adulation going in to the playoffs but we’ll have to live with that.
I agree. I’d sign up for avoiding the play-in and being fully healthy over almost any matchup scenario where we’re at less than full strength. Ideally, I’d love to have everyone back with about a dozen games at the end of the regular season to work out the kinks and figure out the rotations.
Really looking forward to JB or Randle getting double teamed and being able to kick out to reliable sitters like Burks, Bogy, OG or DiVo. Gonna be fun.
The Burks/Hart point is so funny. Once we get our guys back and Hart is playing in his proper role again (ie not starting and playing 30+ minutes), everything will be fine. Before Julius and OG went down, he was starting to look more like Josh Hart
Just like Backup Point Burks for 10-15 minutes is better than Starting Point Burks, Hart the Super Sub is much better than Hart the Starter

Ha. This was a great comment. Well played sir.
I call him our first responder. The guy who carried us out of a collapsing building on 9/11. Somebody needs to photoshop him into firefighter gear.

Even if Randle "rushes" back, the Knicks have enough playmaking and shooting around him and Brunson that he won't have to force things on offense.

I think there's a world where you'd rather be 6 than 4 or 5.

Get healthy, Julius and OG!
