Thank you Jonathan. You work really hard and did not need to write a newsletter on a Saturday but it’s the fact that you did is what makes you the new leader of Knicks nation. Thank you bud.

You capture it great. We have something special. All signs over the past two months have been telling us that this season isn’t meant to be, and Brunson just won’t buy into that.

Also, I keep watching that final play of regulation. It’s obviously the right play. If Deuce swings it to a WIDE open Bogey in the corner, do you think he even draws iron?

Why even have Bogey in the game? San Antonio was playing so far off him

I honestly hadn’t even noticed while watching it live that they had inserted Bogey. And I won’t second-guess Deuce’s decision, but part of me wonders if Bogey had shown any level of competence during the game if Deuce would have made the extra pass. Typically, that would be the right play.

Last night I felt like I did during Game 6 against Miami. Heroic performance by our superstar and if he gets just a little bit of help, we win. Both games ended with an absolutely deflating turnover too.

Great game. One star (Brunson) and a budding star (wemby) combine for 100 points. Yeah the Knicks lost but if you’re gonna lose, lose like this

Thanks for the Saturday newsletter, Jonathan! Brunson is the best point guard this franchise has had since Clyde. I've read where some mention Mark Jackson-no disrespect to Mark but no way was he ever the level of player Brunson is.

The excuse with Bogey was that Burks is dragging him down. What's the excuse now? Yet another reminder that one has to be careful hyping guys with stats on bad teams, The bottom line with Bogdanovic is that he's a useless player if he's not hitting shots.

Last night Keldon Johnson attempted more free throws than Jalen did. I mean . . . . . . .

And hey, the Knicks have also benefitted at times also from the awful officiating. Don't forget the Detroit game where the Pistons got shafted by the referee blatantly ignoring Devo's semi tackle of a guy in the waning seconds of that game. It seems like the NBA's new thing now is not to reward offensive players who are "hunting fouls" but as Thibs says, a foul is a foul. Yes, if you touch Wembanyama they'll get you every time but he's the league's new golden boy of the future so that doesn't count. lol

Bogey plays like someone who doesn’t want to be here. I rescind my comment that it looked like he was starting to play in the flow of the team offense. Ugh.

Beautifully written. Thanks

This game was lost by Bogdanovich's total failure during his stretch early in the fourth quarter. Once again, slow on defense, slow on getting back, slow on getting passes off. I can't and the sight of him.

I’m pretty sure you won’t see him (or Burks) in the playoffs unless there are extremely unusual circumstances. Right now this trade is a D (even though Grimes has been shut down due to knee reasons but at least he’s still young). However, no final grade until we see if Rose can use Bogey’s contract in a deal for a player.

I remember years ago Jeff Van Gundy saying being a big scorer on a bad team didn't mean much because even on the worst teams somebody scores occasionally.

Agree, but my blood pressure will suffer at the sight of him until then. I really like Grimes but thought it was a good trade. Bogdanovic’s numbers with Detroit now look like a mirage.

"stand," not "and." In other words, Bogdanovich is trash!

I haven’t watched a game in a long time that had my heart rate up in the last moments. That was great even though we lost! Why does Thibs think that it’s better to use 6’7 guy on Wemby instead of Sims who’s 6’9-10? Why doesn’t he use Sims?

Fair critique, but Precious has been so good, I don’t mind Thibs trusting him in that spot.

Precious wasn’t doing the job. Mitch obviously isn’t in good enough shape nor is allowed to handle big minutes at this point. Give Sims a shot. He’s taller and can jump through the roof, maybe you catch him on the right day and he surprises us. It’s not why we lost, but an audible was in order here.

I’m not even kidding I had a whole comment ready to go in the next couple of days about how the Knicks hadn’t played any overtime games this year, and had played only one or two games that even came down to a final possession. In my memory, it was the games vs the Heat, Suns and Pistons.

I also think that Thibs logic is sound. Wemby can shoot over Sims just like he can shoot over Precious. May as well play the better player

It's all fine to have a guy score 61 points, but it's ESPN mentality to bury the lead. Knicks lost. Brunson was tired the last several minutes. Over-reliance on one guy is a losing strategy. Knicks lost when Bernard scored 60. They lost when Randle scored 57. Sorry for the negativity, but I just finished watching this one. I'm furious.
